my goal: Introducing differentiation in the the CCB Middle Years Programme.

How is everything connected?

Students will explore the interconnectedness of human-made systems and communities; the relationship between local and global processes; how local experiences mediate the global; reflect on the opportunities and tensions provided by world-interconnectedness; the impact of decision-making on humankind and the environment.

Justification

My project consists in introducing a human-made system into a community, the system being tearing in classes or advanced placement, and the the community being the CCB. Furthermore, in order to properly introduce this systems decisions must be taken in areas concerning students and staff; consequently, the current environment in our school will change and an impact on people in the school will clearly be evidenced. The project’s goal is to change and improve the student’s learning process and their understanding by using a human-made system, which will have repercussions in humankind within the CCB’s environment.

Inquiry questions

  1. What classes should have superior level sets? and why?

  2.  How should the differentiation be made?

  3. How can I institute this system in school?

Required knowledge description

I realized that in order for my project to be succesful i must understand and learn a wide variety of concepts; furthermore, I will also need to learn about multiple concepts which will help me answer my inquiry questions and plan my educational programme acertedly. I do not have much experience on the topic, nd I am new to the world of education. The only experience I have had with a system that grades me and assesses me in accordance to my personal traits and capabilities has been a term's study in the United Kingdom and some attempts of "differentiation" in classes.

1. Which classes should have superior level courses?

investigate about: classes with sets in other countries, biggest gaps in knowledge in the ccb subjects, what types of knowledge can be learned at different speeds.

2. Which subjects in the ccb have the biggest gaps?

investigate about:What do the students think about this ideaInterview teachers, analyze grades, talk to stuents and survey them, investigate about international gaps and the same questions worldwide.

3. How does this system benefit students’ learning process?

Investigate about: student differentiation, benefits of personalized learning, results in the future (IB and Uni.)

4. How should the students be divided?

investgate about: Which methods could be used to separate the students, exams and trial periods, which is the best way of separating students, research which indicates improvement (narrowing the gap) in the student body.

5. How can I introduce this system to the school?

investigate about: How does this system work, adaptations to the original system, methodology, economical aspects and time management, schedules, workload for teachers & students, current way of evaluation in the CCB.

6. Why should we use this system instead of the current system?

Parallel both systems, how well does the student learn with both systems, limitations to both systems, laws and policies in the government which encourage the new system, rate of success in other countries, what concrete evidence is there that shows the current system is failing and that the new one will be succesfull.

7. What are the requirments and conditions the school must have for the system to be effective?

investigate about: economical requirements, changes to schedule, evaluate the necessity of training courses for teachers, students response to this system, benefits for the students in different levels within the same year group, improvement and planning of the school’s directives.

Inquiry plan:

questions one and two are meant to answer inquiry question 1.

questions three and four are meant to answer inquiri question 2

Questions five, six, and seven are meant to answer inquiry question 3

Questions one and two will be looked at by using the internet, interviews to students and teachers, and revising results given by the teachers.

Quesions three and four will be anwered through online investiagation principally; however, there will be some meetings with teachers and experts.

Questions five, six, and seven will be reviewd through online research, meetings with the school directives and teachers, evaluating the existing system, and going through school documents.

If repeated knowledge presents itself any functional source will be used for its revision.

How will I use my adquired knowledge
